Cosmetology Training Center has helped Louisiana students learn the craft of beauty for more than four decades. Founded in 1983, new local ownership continues the legacy of the original owner, Ms. Lora, pairing a welcoming atmosphere with practical training and practice with real clients under licensed supervision.

Our Community Outreach

We strongly believe that our school should support our local community by giving back as much as possible. We want our students to understand the value of giving back to the communities they will serve. Cosmetology Training Center has a long history of promoting community outreach activities each year.

Notebooks for Haircuts

Our Back-to-School Drive generates hundreds of notebooks for local school children in exchange for free haircuts. The notebooks are sent to local schools located in low-income neighborhoods.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Each year, the school collects several boxes of canned goods in exchange for free haircuts during November. The boxes are then delivered to the Annual Food Net Drive to help feed those in need.

Christmas Care Packages

Our annual Christmas project involves students helping to create basic care packages for different organizations within Acadiana.

Community Blood Drive

One on-site blood drive per year.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

During October, we designate a day for our students to “Wear PINK” while taking in donations to give to a local organization in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. CTC also matches their donation to give back even more!

Who We Are

Cosmetology Training Center opened its doors in 1983, founded by Lora Moreau. We’ve been educating beauty professionals in and around Lafayette for over 40 years. In 2023, longtime local professionals Jean and Brittani Pitre became owners, continuing the school’s legacy with a renewed, student-first focus.

Co-owner Brittani Pitre serves as Esthetics Program Director, drawing on 18+ years as an esthetician and more than a decade as a spa owner to connect classroom learning to real-world client care. Her hands-on leadership makes training more practical and encouraging, with side-by-side coaching, feedback at the treatment table, and a culture that values professionalism as much as technique.

FAQs About Cosmetology Training Center

What training programs do you offer?

We currently offer Cosmetology (1,500 hours) and Esthetics (750 hours). Both blend classroom learning with live-client clinic experience under licensed supervision. We also offer an Instructor Training program (750 hours) for licensed estheticians or cosmetologists. Ask Admissions about schedules and next start dates.

When is the student salon open to the public?

Cosmetology services are available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Esthetics services are available weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Students, friends, family, and the public are invited to the clinic at reduced prices. Senior Citizen discounts are available on certain days. Call us for more information. Appointments are available, but walk-ins are welcome!

How do I get started with training?

Schedule a tour to see the school, then complete your application with the required documents and fees. We’ll review schedules, funding options, and help you choose a start date that fits your life.

Do you guarantee job placement?

No. Employment cannot be guaranteed because hiring depends on many factors, including your attendance, skill development, professionalism, portfolio, and local demand. What we do provide is ongoing career support, such as resume help, interview practice, and local job leads. Many graduates find opportunities through this guidance, but outcomes vary by individual effort and timing.

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes. Financial Aid is available to those who qualify. Your first step is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Once your FAFSA® is on file, we can review options such as Pell Grants, Federal Direct Loans, and monthly payment plans, and discuss any state or community resources that may apply. An advisor will help you compare pathways and choose an approach that fits your budget and timeline.
